Gladiator School Experience for Kids
Add the incredible experience offered by an official Gladiator School. The experience includes a round trip private chauffeur to the Gladiator School, where you will get a hands-on training of the fighting techniques of ancient gladiators in a reconstructed Ludus Magnus arena, as well as a Gladiator Museum visit. Please note: The Gladiator School offers its courses at a limited number of set times throughout the day. Depending on the time of your tour, you may have a break to enjoy a snack or lunch between your tour and your Gladiator booking, or you may be required to participate in the Gladiator school before your tour. Our operations team will reach out and advise you on your options upon booking. This add-on duration is approximately 3 hours in total: 2 hour gladiator school, and 1 hour of transport time (30 minutes each way). In general, tours starting after 1:45pm (or 2:15pm, in the case of the Colosseum Tour for Kids) will require the Gladiator school to be before the tour.

  • Knowledgeable and accommodating guide, amazing experience!

    Paolo was knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly enthusiastic about Roman history as he took us around the magnificent ruins of Palatine Hill, the Forum, and the Colosseum. He was especially patient and understanding when one of our group felt ill from dehydration and heatstroke and let her lie on one of the benches until she felt better, fetching fresh water from the nearest nasoni and getting her and her husband on the elevator to wait for us downstairs while we finished out the tour. He gave us great food and gelato recommendations afterwards. Highly recommend, excellent guide!

    Our private tour of the colosseum and ancient city with Manuela was a wonderful experience for our group! We had an 11 and a 4 year old with us plus some adults who were new to Rome and a couple who had been before. Manuela was warm, engaging and very knowledgable. She expertly navigated us around the various steps in the process so that we didn't have to stress about anything. We especially enjoyed her sharing the Then and Now pictures from her book so that we had a better appreciation of what we were looking at and its historical context. My daughter immediately bought her own version of the book after the tour and even mentioned that the tour "went by quickly". High praise for a 3 hour tour by an 11 year old!

    We absolutely loved our private tour with Stefania. The Colosseum was truly a marvel and Stefania was able to lead us around very efficiently and we really appreciated all the little details she was able to tell us about the construction and how the arena would have been used. The Forum/Ancient City was stunning even in the ruins. Stefania had great visual aids that helped bring her tour to light.
