Your Colosseum & Roman Forum tour begins at the iconic Colosseum, where you will enter smoothly with just a quick stop for the security check. You will then pass through the Gladiators’ Gate to the Colosseum’s exclusive arena floor and step out directly onto the same level where the gladiators would fight. It’s an incredible perspective and the perfect place for your guide to share stories from ancient times.

From the restricted arena floor, you will also be close to the Colosseum underground, having a near-unobstructed birds-eye view of the fascinating dungeons where the shows were managed and coordinated.

Once you have enjoyed the arena, your guide will lead you up to the second floor, where you can enjoy the view from Caesar’s balcony. Here you will hear amazing stories and anecdotes, and get a better picture of what it all looked like thousands of years ago.

After concluding your visit to the Colosseum, you will move on to another magnificent archaeological site – the nearby Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. Learn about the origins of Rome and the strategy that helped this ancient power grow. Climbing to the very top of this beautiful archeological park, you will admire one of the most stunning views of the Circus Maximus.

Next, it is on to visit the political and commercial center of ancient Rome – the Roman Forum. The sheer size of the excavation site and the fascinating ruins of basilicas, political buildings, temples, and more will stimulate your imagination of Roman life. For example, we want to ensure that traveling families and friends can tour together, so on rare occasions we may add one or two guests to avoid separating groups.   • Amazing Experience!

    This tour was life-changing! Seeing the Forum and the Colosseum and Palatine Hill was so moving. There were only two of us in our group so it was like a private tour with Annalisa. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the sites. I was never a huge fan of history growing up/in school, but now at age 57, Annalisa's passion about it and the way she introduced it to us, her expertise has turned me into someone who wants to study the history of Rome. She shared with us so many little details that I found fascinating. She is definitely in the right profession. (Also, she was very accommodating to my knee problems, without affecting the experience of my other tour group member.) 5 stars for the tour and 5 stars for Annalisa! (I'd give 10 stars if I could!)
