On September 9th 2026, at 16:15 CET, we found that an unauthorized party had, through a third party, accessed a file containing customer booking records. We believe the incident took place on August 26th, 2026, and was resolved by standard maintenance within hours. The incident is over, but some customer data was taken before we shut it down.
This page tells you what was involved, what we’ve done, and what to watch for.
Response
We reported the incident to the data protection authority (the Garante) on September 11th 2026. Our IT team has confirmed the breach is closed and has checked our other systems.
What customer data was involved
Depending on the information provided when booking, the record may include:
- First and last names, and in some cases date of birth
- Email address and phone numbers
- Links to the photo follow-up from your guide (these have now been disabled)
- Free-text content attached to the booking which could include:
- Dietary requirements & other requests made
- Event information
Data that has not been affected (Secure)
- Payment card details
- Passwords
- Card payments are processed by Stripe, as we don’t store card numbers.
What you should do
Exercise caution to avoid scams (fake emails and calls):
- Don’t click links or open attachments in an email or text about LivTours that isn’t sent from the official contacts below
- Never share card details, passwords, or ID documents in reply to an unofficial email, text, or phone call
- Not sure a message is really from us? Forward it to privacy@livtours.com and someone here will tell you
- If you’ve already sent payment or login details in response to a suspicious message, call your bank and change the password on that account
You don’t need to change your LivTours password or make any changes to your account.

What genuine LivTours communications to look out for
LivTours does genuinely require certain information to fulfill your booking.
Communications you may legitimately receive from the official contacts:
- Booking confirmation
- Check-in for your tour
- Service amendment and amendment confirmation
- Direct communication via phone, text, and email from our Fulfillment team
- Details may be requested: passport, date of birth, accommodation address, flight or cruise details, ages of participants – all related to the fulfillment of your service
- Post-tour message
What to be wary of
A scam built on this data could mention your actual tour, your travel dates, or a real group photo. That doesn’t make it real. Watch for:
- Emails or texts from an unofficial contact asking you to “confirm” a booking, pay a balance, or claim a refund through a link
- Deadlines and pressure (“your booking will be canceled in 24 hours”)
- Calls from someone claiming to be LivTours who asks for card details
- Sender addresses that look like ours but aren’t (livtours-support.com, liv-tours.net, and so on). Our email comes from @livtours.com only.
- Anyone asking for your password
- An unofficial contact asking for your date of birth or passport number
We don’t issue refunds through links in unsolicited messages, and we never ask for card details by email.
