Your private walking tour of Florence is curated to your schedule and can begin at any hour that is convenient for you. You will meet your tour guide at the centrally located Piazza della Signoria, and the tour will begin in what is considered, an outdoor museum. You will then begin your stroll towards Palazzo Vecchio, marveling at the statues and fountains flanking the main facade.

Your guide will take you towards the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, and share with you the fascinating history of Florence’s longest-standing bridge. Admire the numerous jewelry shops nestled along both sides of this Medieval bridge, enjoy its colorful charm, and take a few moments to snap some photos as this is one of the most photographed sites in Florence.

Your tour continues as you stroll through the charming streets where some of the greatest artists have walked – Michelangelo, Dante Alighieri, and Botticelli. You will make a stop at the Piazza della Repubblica. Nowadays it is lined with quaint cafes and hotels, but it was once home to an Ancient Roman Forum and has suffered many changes throughout time.

Next, it is on to the unique Duomo made of green, white, and pink local marble, crowned with Brunelleschi’s Dome which is said to have been inspired by the magnificent engineering of the Pantheon in Rome. Right next to the Duomo is an eight-sided building which is the Baptistery. Admire its Holy Door, coined as the Gates of Paradise by Lorenzo Ghiberti, thanks to the opulent beauty of the gold reliefs which serve to tell the story of the Old Testament – a truly unique Renaissance masterpiece.

Your Florence walking tour will close with a visit to the famous Galleria dell’Accademia, where you will reserved entry tickets. Michelangelo’s original David is a majestic statue that is sure to impress at 17 feet high, this iconic piece was completed when the artist was only 29 years old.

  • Great Start to Our Visit!

Emanuela was excellent throughout our walking tour of the city and our visit to Michelangelo's David in the Accademia. She is very insightful and full of knowledge about the city, its history, and all it has to offer. This is a great tour to kick off your visit to Florence as it gets you familiar with the city, its layout, its architecture and monuments, and its story. And of course, Michelangelo's David is breathtaking, and having Emanuela there to guide us and to share so much information about all that we saw made our time there so much more valuable. Thank you!

  • Emanuela Makes Florence Come Alive

Emanuela was an outstanding guide for our Private Walking Tour of Florence, including the Galleria dell'Accademia to see the David. We booked her through LivTours via a recommendation from Ciao Bambino. Her love for her city is obvious, and it's clearly mutual: security guards and other tour guides along the way all greeted her with warm smiles and kind words. The tour covers a wonderful sweep of Florence, beginning at the Piazza della Signoria before moving through the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Repubblica, the Duomo and Baptistery, and finally the Accademia. One of our favorite moments was lingering on the Ponte Vecchio, where Emanuela brought the history of Florence's oldest bridge to life. She also took us on an architectural detour through side streets and alleys that traced the fascinating evolution of Florentine buildings from humble medieval towers to grand Renaissance palaces, the kind of thing you'd never find on your own. Her knowledge went well beyond what you'd pick up just from living in Florence. Since we'd already seen the Duomo the day before, she happily adjusted our tour to focus more on architecture and Medici history instead. Her insight into Michelangelo and the David in particular was scholar-level; we left with a genuinely deeper appreciation for the work. Even in the midday heat, she stayed upbeat and smiling, and knew exactly which shaded paths to take to keep us comfortable. We'd recommend her wholeheartedly. The one thing we'd change wasn't about her at all: our tickets were timed for the afternoon, and in hindsight we'd have preferred an early morning slot to beat the heat and crowds.

  • A Tour Worth Repeating

I’d happily take this tour again just to experience it with another guide’s perspective. The city has so many layers, and LivTours did a fantastic job peeling them back. The Duomo, Baptistery, Ponte Vecchio, and David — it was everything Florence should be.

    - William Scott
  • Beyond Expectations

I had high expectations, and LivTours exceeded them. Our guide Marco wove humor into history, making the city’s stories stick. Seeing the Duomo, then stepping inside the Accademia, felt like going through centuries in a single afternoon.

    - Laura White
  • Fun and Informative Tour

Elena kept us entertained while teaching us so much about Florence’s history. The Piazza della Repubblica was lively, and the Ponte Vecchio had such charm. Ending at the Accademia with David was the highlight of our Italian vacation.
