Experience the essence of Roman food and the art of Italian living during this exclusive small-group cooking class. The experience is curated and crafted by our expert chef from the hit TV series Masterchef Italia together with a team of local experts. You’ll learn to prepare some of Rome’s most iconic foods from scratch. The class, of no more than six guests, takes place in LivTours’ custom-designed luxury kitchen.
Your experience begins with a warm welcome and a classic Italian aperitivo: a chilled glass of prosecco paired with a selection of cured meat, cheeses, and olives. Then it’s time to put on your aprons, roll up your sleeves and dive into dough-making!
At your personal work station, equipped with all the utensils and ingredients you’ll need, learn the art of preparing traditional Roman teglia pizza dough: a square, thick-crust style known for its crispy base and airy interior. The dough you make will need a day to rise, so you will be given a pre-proofed dough to craft your own margherita pizza—topping it with crushed tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil.
Next, create golden, olive-oil brushed focaccia, which you’ll top with luscious mortadella, creamy stracciatella cheese, and crunchy pistachios – an irresistible Roman flavor combination.
You’ll also learn to make supplì, the popular Roman street food: deep-fried rice balls filled with tangy tomato sauce, parmigiano, and mozzarella. Shaped by hand and fried to perfection, a crispy, comforting bite of Roman tradition.
Finally, you’ll learn to make the dessert: delicious and indulgent Nutella-stuffed pockets of pizza-dough. Then you’ll sit down with your fellow guests to enjoy the fruits of your labor, complete with a glass of wine and a limoncello digestif.
