Your LivTours Food Tour of Rome Italy starts in the tucked away, but charming Jewish Quarter as many of Rome’s typical dishes have their origins in the Jewish community. Located right in the city center, your guide will take you on a short walking tour of this beautiful area before sitting down to try some of the traditional dishes like fiori di zucca (fried tender zucchini flowers), fried artichokes and fried baccalà (fried cod) with a glass of prosecco in hand. As you move to your next stop, it is time for what Romans call street food – pizza!
Stroll through the streets of historic Rome as you make your way to your next stop where you will sample delicious pasta dishes. Just steps away from the amazing Pantheon, this locale has been operating since 1934 and continues to be an important Roman legend and has officially been declared a historical site by the city of Rome! This is where you will try a typical Roman pasta dish called “alla Romana” – meaning the Roman style. As you enjoy your meal, your guide will share with you the humble origins of this signature dish.
