Roman food experience

We had a great food tour and loved getting to know the people in our group. We enjoyed the selection of dishes to try and our lovely guide, Ece. We were just two couples and we had fun chatting together, Ece was friendly and we enjoyed her personable nature. Her English is amazing.

Delicious and fun

We had a wonderful food tour with Dario!! He was knowledgeable, attentive and very pleasant. We highly recommend taking this tour to have a different way of experiencing the customs and culture of Rome. If you can get Dario, that's even better! We will tell all of our friends about the great time we had.

A Fun and Delicious time in Rome

Our food tour with Lorenzo was awesome! Lorenzo was so enjoyable! He made our tour so much fun! There was just 5 of us and we just hit it off so well! We just took our time strolling through Rome (which is amazing), enjoying each new restaurant with Lorenzo. If I should ever re-visit Rome, I would definitely sign up for another Food Tour again and hopefully with Lorenzo!

Had a blast

Whether you are a novice food-tour person or a veteran, as we are, you'll have a blast on this tour. Our guide's name was Giulia and we spent a wonderful evening chatting and eating (all very delicious!) with her. The tour is well organized and well paced and every dish we tried and learned about was very good. Finishing with a gelato at the best "gelateria" in Rome was the cherry on top of the cake. Thanks Giulia and LivItaly, for a great evening!

Get to know Rome through its food

I met Jill at the Turtle Fountain in Piazza Mattei for an evening of food, facts and fun. I was the sole attendee, my good luck, but I chose LivItaly because their max per group is 6. And that makes a difference! We visited 4 of the 5 establishments, I begged off the gelato, but I'm sure it would have been great. We started with prosecco and prosciuto: Jill talked while I scarfed it up, very addictive. Jill knows how to tell good stories and not recite dry facts. Next stop - fried artichoke, fried stuffed zucchini flower and fried salt cod. Each one expertly made. I love artichokes, but the salted cod was also a nice dish. Jill sat out this course (oh the pain of eating for a living!), and she kept up her end as we walked to the location relaying how the Jews got to Rome, the history behind their ghettoization, and pointing out the modern memorials to Holocost victims, embedded in the streets. On the way to our next stop, Jill showed me where Caesar met up with Brutus on the Ides of March. It's always a thrill when 2000 years of history is beneath your feet or in front of your eyes. We sampled three types of pizza before heading to the Pantheon area for pasta. The waiters at the pasta place know Jill and we got lots of hand-kissing and compliments, along with a really good Cacio e Pepe. I could not eat another bite, so we parted company after pasta. It was a delightful experience and a lasting memory of Rome. Small groups, max 6, great customer service, experienced savvy guide, well worth my money and my time. I'm already planning to bring my daughter and book another LivItaly tour, maybe several. This was by far the best experience.

Small group tour - the only way!

As we walked through Rome with our wonderful guide Giulia we passed many huge groups. We were a group of 4 and had the most wonderful time and full access to our guide for all our questions. We had a fun time trying the various dishes and listening to Giulia's explanations. After this experience, I would only do a tour in a small group.

Get to know a country through its food

We greatly enjoyed the food tour, lead by Shannon, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and made it feel like a friend was showing us around Rome. The restaurants were terrific and gave us a wonderful sample of traditional dishes. At the pizza and pasta stops, Shannon asked for our general preferences and suggested dishes she thought we would enjoy - and she was spot on!! The gelato shop had really interesting flavors and was delicious. What a wonderful way to see more of the city!

Food Tour deserves 10 stars

If I could give 10 stars, I would! It's so wonderful to be in a small group. Our guide Guilia was amazing, knowledgeable and so much fun! Drink tour and food tour were both amazing! Book LivItaly - you will not regret it!
