Five miles south of Naples lies an ancient town whose richness and history is on par with that of Pompeii, the town is Herculaneum. You will travel in luxury from Pompeii to Herculaneum with a chauffeured transfer, along with your guide.
Herculaneum is known as the better preserved cousin of Pompeii as the volcanic ash that covered it, also helped preserve the framework of the homes and buildings, but also the more fragile materials such as wood and other natural materials. Like a historian’s dream come true, you get to see the very beds and even food remnants left behind from that terrible day. Taking a walk through Herculaneum is immersing yourself in history. Some of the attractions you will see in Herculaneum include the House of Galba, the Thermal Baths and wonderful mosaic floors, the Samnite House and plenty more.

ADD ON: WINE TASTING & LUNCH AT A LOCAL VINEYARD
If you would like to make your half day tour a full day tour, then why not add on a visit and lunch at a local family run winery set in the hills of Mount Vesuvius. Your private guide will leave you with your chauffeur who will take you to the nearby vineyard. This traditional winery is now run by the third generation who are young entrepreneurs who took their nonno’s (grandfather’s) hobby and made it into a viable reality. Your winery guide will meet you upon your arrival and will take you on a private tour through the vineyard and the cellar while explaining the bio-dynamic techniques they used in production, as well as some of the ancient techniques they are implementing in their production.
Of course, no vineyard tour would be complete without a wine tasting. Enjoy the views while you savor three wines followed by a delicious light meal which includes a starter, first course and a dessert. You are sure to enjoy the stories, landscape and of course wine of this vineyard that has been in the family for three generations.
