Your day tour hiking in the Dolomites begins at Piazzale Roma where you will meet your private driver.  Relax on the drive through the beautiful hills, where prosecco grapes are grown, and then head up into the Dolomite mountains.

Cortina d’Ampezzo

You’ll first arrive in the lovely town of Cortina d’Ampezzo.  Your driver will leave you at the cable car which will take you up to the stunning Mount Faloria, more than 6,500 feet above sea level.  At the top, you’ll have breathtaking views out across the surrounding mountains and even see the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the distance.

Hiking in the Dolomites

Hiking trails are marked with different levels of difficulty, so pick the best one for you and explore on your own*. After your hike, a reservation will be waiting for you at a typical mountain hut and restaurant, called a rifugio (cost of lunch not included). At lunch, choose between a host of typical local dishes such as polenta; spek; canederli; apple strudel and more.  Enjoy sitting out in the sunshine on the terrace with inspiring views of these jagged, towering peaks.
Heading back to Cortina, you’ll have time to take a little stroll around the lovely streets of one of Italy’s trendiest ski resorts. Have an aperitivo (we recommend tasting the local prosecco) or do some shopping before your driver picks you up to go back to Venice.

  • Fantastic Trip to Dolomites with Daniel!

    This was the perfect day trip from Venice. Daniel met us in Venice and drove us up to Cortina d'Ampezzo with an informative tour along the way. He gave us great instructions to navigate Tofana and we did some amazing hiking and had lunch at a Refugio on the mountain. After hiking, he brough us down to Cortina so we could check out the town - and co-site of 2026 Olympics. This amazing trip to the Dolmomites was the perfect companion to our time in Venice. We highly recommend Daniel and LivTours!
