Enjoy this exclusive VIP Combo Tour – without the crowds – of two of Florence’s most beloved monuments: the first viewing of Michelangelo’s iconic statue of David in the Accademia Gallery, followed by priority entry into the Duomo to visit the rooftop Terraces, high above the city, where your group will be the only people present.

Your expert guide will meet your semi-private group outside the Accademia at 8 a.m. Be among the first people of the day to view the breathtaking statue of David. You’ll walk into an almost empty hall to see him standing there, a majestic, towering figure of the ages. You’ll have plenty of time to admire this colossal icon from a 360-degree perspective, as your guide tells you the story of Michelangelo’s life and genius. How, aged 26, he chiseled David from one massive slab of marble, working for days and nights without food or sleep – or a bath!

You’ll see other highlights of the Accademia, including Michelangelo’s emotive unfinished marble torsos, Giambologna’s statue of The Abduction of a Sabine Woman, and the Coronation of the Virgin, by Jacopo before heading 10 minutes down the street to the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, more famously called the Duomo.

With priority access, you’ll enter the Duomo, and go straight up to the rafters to explore the Terraces. Thanks to a special partnership with LivTours, you will be the only visitors present. The two balconies are 230 feet long, giving you unparalleled views over the rooftops of Florence, the Bell-tower, and Baptistry. You’ll see Brunelleschi’s famous dome up close and the intricate colorful marble cladding of the cathedral.

End with a fascinating tour of the Duomo’s gothic interior, admiring the stunning frescoes of the dome.

  • This tour is not suitable for individuals with heart conditions, mobility impairments, or other serious health concerns.
  • Not recommended for those who are pregnant, suffer from claustrophobia, or experience vertigo.
  • The tour is not wheelchair accessible.
  • To access the terraces, participants must climb 150 narrow steps—there is no elevator.
  • Children under 7 years old are not permitted on the terraces and therefore cannot join the tour.
• Footwear & Clothing Requirements
  • Closed-toe, flat shoes with a back strap are mandatory. High heels, clogs, slippers and flip-flops are strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
  • Modest attire is required to enter places of worship: shoulders and knees must be covered. Tank tops and short dresses are not allowed.
  • Backpacks are not allowed inside the Accademia or Duomo. The Uffizi has lockers to accommodate backpacks.
  • You will be asked to place water bottles inside your handbag/small bag in order to enter inside the Accademia & Uffizi.
  • Photography is only permitted without flash inside the museums
• Safety Guidelines
  • Do not lean over railings or extend objects, including cell phones, beyond them.
  • Using cell phones or any type of camera is not permitted in exposed areas.
  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who assumes full responsibility.

  • Maximum group size is 10 participants.

Accademia Museum Access and Visitor Regulations

Entry Rules

• For security reasons, all visitors are subject to screening via metal detector.
• The Gallery does not provide a cloakroom service. Therefore, luggage, large backpacks, helmets, or any bulky item exceeding 40 x 30 x 18 cm are not permitted.
• Mobile phones must be switched off or set to silent mode.

The Following Are Prohibited Inside the Gallery

• Smoking (including e-cigarettes/vapes).
• Taking photographs using flash, selfie sticks, tripods, or bulky equipment.
• Bringing beverages of any kind (including cans and glass bottles), except plastic bottles of water up to 0.5 liters.
• Bringing knives, metal tools, firearms, weapons, or hazardous materials (including visitors legally licensed to carry weapons).
• Wearing clothing deemed inappropriate for the setting (e.g., swimsuits, revealing attire), walking barefoot, or being shirtless.

All LivTours Semi-Private Group Tours are capped at six guests per tour guide. Our commitment to maintaining this uniquely tiny group size can sometimes be a little tricky, mathematically speaking. For example, we want to ensure that traveling families and friends can tour together, so on rare occasions we may add one or two guests to avoid separating groups.
