The Best Way to See Rome in a Day

My husband and I did a full-day private tour of Rome with Annalisa (7:15am–4:30pm), and it was truly one of the best travel decisions we’ve ever made. We wanted to see everything in a single day: the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, Coliseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, and more, and somehow Annalisa made it all happen effortlessly. It genuinely felt like spending the day with a Roman history professor. She was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and delightful to be with, and she brought every site to life with stories, context, and details we never would’ve known otherwise. We learned so much, but it never felt overwhelming, just fascinating and fun. This is exactly how we like to travel: see a lot in a condensed time frame, without wasting a minute. With a private guide and driver, we were able to zip around the city, skip the slow, flag-waving group tour experience, and spend extra time at the places that meant the most to us. Everything was coordinated seamlessly, including a fantastic lunch spot she dropped us at mid-day. We visited in November - not peak season - and it was still absolutely wonderful. Since this was a bucket list trip and likely our one chance to experience Rome together this way, it was more than worth it to maximize our time and truly understand what we were seeing. Highly, highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to make the most of their day in Rome. We never felt rushed, we saw everything on our list, and Annalisa made the entire experience unforgettable.

We (four of us total)were picked up at our hotel in Rome, early 7a.m. We got an early start and beat a lot of the crowds! Our tour “VIP Rome in a day Private tour/city highlights” covered so much, everything we wanted to see and more. Our driver, and our guide, Barbara were excellent. She was SO knowledgeable and was constantly telling us things we needed to see and the significance of the area. Our driver would drop us off,close to the attraction, and always pick us up after we were finished, then he wisked us off to a new spot! He knew all the back roads and sometimes got us out of traffic. Between the two of them we felt like royalty, seeing beautiful Rome, and being so catered to. Barbara even suggested a lovely restaurant for a delicious lunch! They certainly are very much appreciated by my family and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND liv tours! After a Full day of beautiful Rome he dropped us off at our hotel. Thank you Barbara for an Incredible Day in Rome….we will never forget it!❤️

One of the Best Days of Our Lives

This tour truly felt VIP from start to finish. Seeing Michelangelo’s ceiling in the Sistine Chapel without the crush of hundreds of people was indescribable. Walking through the Forum, with our guide painting vivid pictures of ancient life, was the perfect finale. My wife and I will be talking about this day for years.

Rome Made Easy

As first-timers in Rome, this was the best decision we made. Navigating on our own would have been overwhelming, but LivTours streamlined everything. Great for Teenagers Too

Traveling with two teenagers, I wasn’t sure how they’d handle a full day of history. To my surprise, they were fascinated—especially at the Colosseum where they could step onto the arena floor. The chauffeur service saved us a lot of walking, which kept everyone happy. LivTours really nailed this one.

My husband and I booked this for our anniversary trip, and it was perfect. Giulia managed to teach us an incredible amount without it feeling like school. We laughed, learned, and loved every moment. Ending the day in the Roman Forum as the sun began to set was breathtaking.

Best Tour I’ve Ever Taken

I travel often for work and leisure, and this was hands down the best private tour I’ve booked. The pacing was perfect—never rushed, never dragging.
