Wonderful tour and excellent tour guide!

We had Tania as our tour guide and she was amazing. She had a wealth of knowledge about the Basilica, the art, the history and took the time to explain and answer all our questions. We did not feel rushed, she kept us away from the crowds, we LOVED the small group and yes it was semi private, small group (unlike other companies that tell you they are small group but not truly). The dome climb had incredible views, the papal tombs were amazing. The Basilica itself it incredible but what made this a 5 star tour is Tania our guide and being able to have a very small group and a guide that could keep us away from the crowds- that was priceless! Highly recommend! We have been on a number of tours in Italy and our first one with Liv- would definitely book again with this company. They are A+!

I loved how this tour took us from the sacred quiet of the Papal Tombs to the dizzying heights of the dome terrace. Chiara connected the two with stories that tied everything together beautifully. Small group, great pacing, and unforgettable views.

Smooth, Professional, and Fascinating

Everything from meeting the guide to entering the Basilica was seamless. Luca made sure we avoided crowds as much as possible and found quiet moments to enjoy the art. Standing in front of the Pietà felt like time stopped.

A Must for First-Time Visitors to Rome

I can’t imagine visiting the Vatican without doing this tour. Davide was an exceptional guide, balancing humor with respect for the sacred spaces. The climb to the dome terrace gave me a whole new appreciation for the city’s layout.

Every corner of St. Peter’s offers a new perspective, but the dome terrace is unbeatable for photography. Chiara even suggested the perfect angle for capturing the square. I left with incredible shots and a deeper understanding of the Basilica’s history.

I loved that we skipped the long lines—it saved us so much time. Our guide Davide was personable and funny, which kept the mood light despite the heat. The inside view from the dome gallery was my favorite, but the Papal Crypts left a lasting impression too.

The Dome Climb Alone Is Worth It

Even if you’ve seen St. Peter’s before, you haven’t really experienced it until you’ve climbed the dome. Marco guided us through every step, literally and historically. The view of Rome from the top made me fall in love with the city all over again.

Wonderful for Grandparents and Teens Alike

We took this tour with our grandson, and both generations loved it. Giulia was patient with our slower pace and still kept our grandson fascinated with her stories about Michelangelo and Bernini. The elevator helped, and we all made it to the gallery level for some stunning views.

Not Just a Tour—An Experience

LivTours really delivered. Elena made sure we understood not only the “what” but also the “why” behind the Basilica’s design choices. The mosaics inside the dome were a highlight for me—they’re even more beautiful up close. The crypts gave the whole experience a sense of completion.
