A Good Way to Avoid the Midday Heat

Since the Basilica’s closed on Wednesdays, the Vatican was not as busy as usual, which made it the perfect time to go for us! The chapel and museum were much quieter.

The artwork is beautiful, but without the guide’s explanation outside the room, I wouldn’t have noticed half the details. There are layers to this that aren’t obvious unless someone points them out.
