Semi-Private Picasso Tour in Barcelona Reviews

Very unique experience

We love Picasso so when we saw this tour in Barcelona to explore the artist's birthplace and early training, our curiosity was peaked. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable (he is an art historian, what more could you ask for on a Picasso tour??) and also very entertaining. Although we feel we know Picasso's life story pretty well, we learned things that we didn't know before. He also gave us wonderful insight into the artist's style and pointed out details in his works that we certainly wouldn't have seen otherwise. It was just the best experience we could have had and we can't compliment LivSpain enough for this unique opportunity!!

Extremely interesting tour

We were in a group of 4 on this very interesting tour dedicated to Picasso's beginnings in Barcelona. I have mostly thought of Paris when thinking Picasso but his early life and studies in Barcelona were very important to his devlopment into the artist we know. We saw the area he grew up in, the academy where he studied and several of his works in the museum there. The guide was an art historian with many facts and insights that he happily shared with us. Enjoyable and very educational!

Picasso in Barcelona

I knew that Picasso got his start in Barcelona although he is mostly known for his ties to Paris. On this tour we learned about his early years and the beginning of his artistic life. It's amazing what sorts of influences you can still see even in his later works. The tour was very comprehensive and the guide was easy to follow and entertaining. The time flew by and we were sorry when the tour ended.

The Picasso tour offered us an extremely interesting look at the youth and artistic beginnings of this artist. If you like Picasso, take this tour! It's fascinating!

Fascinating

Highly recommend this tour

My wife and I find Picasso to be a fascinating artist so we were very interested in booking the Picasso small group tour while in Barcelona. We were not disappointed. Our guide Richard was superb. The group was truly small (6 of us in all) so there was plenty of chance to interact with the guide and the other members of the group. This tour deserves all 5 stars and our strongest recommendation.

Young Picasso

We were in Barcelona with our daughter who is currently pursuing a major in art history. The Picasso tour offered by LivSpain was particularly interesting, and not only to our daughter. We found it fascinating to hear about the artist's youth, early studies and influences and what was the base for the style for which he later became famous. If you are interested in Picasso or would just like to know something more about him, we can certainly recommend this tour to you.

Great tour for everyone

Having already visited the Picasso museum in Paris, we thought taking the Picasso tour in Barcelona would be a good way to learn about Picasso's early years. We found the tour to be fascinating and the tour guide, Richard (art historian, resident in Barcelona for several years), to be everything that we could have hoped for. This tour is great for Picasso affascinatos as well as for anyone just insterested in learning more about the artist and his style.

Excellent small group tour

We booked the small group tour dedicated to Picasso's youth and development and we were very impressed both with the tour, the guide and with the immagination and creativity of this tour company. On the tour we visited several places from Picasso's early years, including the academy where he began his studies. We also saw several of his works and, with the insight that our excellent guide had given us, we were able to better understand and appreciate this somewhat complicated artist. We went away with new knowledge and respect for Picasso and his artistic life.
