Excellent Tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peters Bascillica

If you're in Rome, this tour is a must. Liv tours made the meeting point at a Cafe just outside of the tour group entrance to the Vatican. This location was easily close by a stop for Rome's subway/metro making it easily acessible. Our Guide Lorenza was fantastic, she explained much of the history of the Vatican, Michaelangelo's process for painting the sistine chapel and the other works of art on display at the museum. She was excellent at navigating the museum, answering questions about the art and most importantly, moving through the crowds that show up as the tour goes on. In addition to the Sistine chapel, the Vatican Museum also include the School of Athens painting by Raphael which is also a must see. Go early and beat the crowds, it is worth it.

Unforgettable

Monica was our guide through the vatican, and we had an unforgettable time. I couldn’t imagine simply walking through such a place with out instruction. It would have been a completely different experience, but monica was awesome. She was so interesting and knew so many things. I could tell she had so much more to tell us, but you have only a limited time and a set route through there. Periodically, she would huddle us up in some open space and tell us all of the cool things about a room, or a tapestry, or a sculpture. I’m not all that in to art or churches, but I can’t tell you how interesting and worthwhile it was to do the vatican as a guided tour, but especially with such a fun person. Thanks!

Loved this tour

Great tour, loved our guide, Elisabetta! She was very knowledgeable and kept us on the move to the right areas - around all of the crowds. Told us how to do things we may want to do after the tour!

Our tour guide Barbara was outstanding. From beginning to end - she kept us moving and engaged. She is so knowledgeable and interesting. She is also great with teens. I highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

Outstanding!

We found ourselves in Rome during the historic time between the passing of Pope Francis and the conclave. Even though we weren't able to see the Sistine Chapel due to the preparation for the conclave, our Liv tour with Paola was phenomenal! Liv Tours was proactive in their communication regarding the status of sites at the Vatican, and Paola gave us a tour we will never forget. Paola has a deep understanding of the history of Vatican, and Rome. This was my 4th time to tour the Vatican, and I learned more this time than ever before. Paola expertly navigated us through the museums and through the crowds to get us into St. Peter's Basilica. I also highly recommend the early morning tour, being able to see the museums without the crowds was special and gave us the time to really absorb everything we saw. This was our first of three Liv tours on our trip, and after completing all of them I can say that I will always book through Liv. The knowledge and expertise of their guides is exceptional and we felt that we had access to an experience that other tourists don't have.

Ilaria was fantastic!

We had an incredible early morning Vatican tour with Ilaria. It was our first site in Rome and the best way to start out our visit. Ilaria’s engaging personality, deep passion and immense knowledge of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter’s Basilica made this a highlight of our trip. Absolutely worth it!

We enjoyed a private tour with Barbara Streisand of the Vatican and several surrounding sites. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the art, history, and culture of these buildings. We loved her style, the details she chose to share with us throughout the tour and her deep love of history. I wouldn’t have appreciated a lot of the details of the artwork we were seeing without her explanations. I highly recommend booking with her if you have the opportunity, you won’t regret it! Lauren

Maximo, what an amazing guide!

I’ve done Vatican tour before, but nothing compared with what Maximo offered today: tons of knowledge, joy, patience, and humor. We want to be back next year and hope to do this tour again with him.
