It was okay
Seeing the Basilica at night was absolutely breathtaking! However, I’m giving this 3 stars because the tour operator failed to specify the required attire for the tour. They called me three times to change the tour time but didn't remind us about the dress code even once. We waited outside the Basilica with the tour guide for over 30 minutes, and she didn’t mention our kids' attire. Then, 45 minutes later, she told us we couldn’t enter without covering up. We had to spend over 20 euros on scarves. Every other church we visited provided paper cover-ups. This was a private tour, and our guide didn't inform us about this! I felt she just wanted to leave and not complete the tour. While the Cathedral itself deserves 5 stars, there were no reminders about shoulder coverings on Viator or from the tour operator.
-Definite “must do” in Venice!
We did this tour with Nico. He did an amazing job taking us around the streets of Venice and showing us both the busier and quieter parts of the city. We arrived in Venice right before this tour, so it was the perfect first look at the city. So happy we got to see it at night. Highly recommend.
- Karri Clutesuper very private tour all alone with our guide in the fully lit basilica is a memorable experience and worth the price
Pamela was an excellent guide who was very knowledgable, kind, and was very good at explaining everything we saw. She showed us so many unique artifacts, and this tour could not compare to visiting the basilica in the day.
- DanieleAmazing Night Tour
We will never forget our Venice night tour with Roberta. She was amazing and taught us so many things about Venice and Basilica S Marco.
- JohnSimply Fantastic

- JudyWill never forget this experience
If you can do it, this tour is DEFINITELY worth your time and budget! Venice at night is enchanting and mysterious and the experience inside St Mark's as the lights are turned on, is absolutely breathtaking. Something you shouldn't miss!!
- SusanUnforgettable
If you can find availability for this tour, we can heartily recommend it to you. Seeing St Mark's at night is an experience you won't soon forget. It's enchanting and mystical and breathtaking to see the mosaics and other artwork come to life as the lights turn on. We had an awesome guide who's knowledge and enthusiasm for Venice the city, its history and its unique architecture, had us hanging on her every word. Our memories of Venice, thanks to this tour, will be some of the best of our lives!
- GordonAbsolutely brilliant!!
We can not praise our Basilica Night tour highly enough! It was an excellent experience from start to finish. First of all, we were welcomed very warmly by our guide Marie-Therese. And then she just blew us away with her passion, enthusiasm for her subject, and the depth of her knowledge. Her explanations were concise, clear and hugely entertaining. Her touch was light and deft; and she was funny, too. The time just flew! I learned so many new things, and my eyes were well and truly opened. I will honestly never look at the Basilica of San Marco again in the same way. You can be sure that we will recommend LivItaly and this particular tour to all our friends.
- DeborahIncredibly beautiful
Thanks to LivItaly I had the opportunity to have a "mystical" experience: be inside the Basilica at night with no one except our little group of blessed people. We started our tour outside in Piazza San Marco, where our great guide Marie was introducing us to the treasures we were going to admire. After an introduction made in the narthex, we were guided inside the basilica, we sat down in the dark and then the bulbs started to light up slowly and the magnificence of the Byzantine mosaics became evident in all their precious splendour. I was speechless in front of this amazing beauty. We also had the rare opportunity to visit an area normally inaccessible to the public: the crypt, the original church built in the IX Century under the present one to house the corpse of St. Mark and the Pala d'Oro a Byzantine altarpiece entirely made of gold and precious stones. One of the most stunning experiences in my whole life! THANKS LIVITALY!!!
