Perfect Introduction to Local Rome

Our first full day in Rome, and this tour set the tone beautifully. Luca guided us through alleys, piazzas, and into the heart of the Jewish Ghetto. By the end, we felt like we’d discovered the real Rome.

Worth Every Minute

This was one of those tours that felt perfectly balanced—informative, beautiful, and relaxing. Crossing the river at Isola Tiberina was especially lovely. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a quieter, more authentic side of Rome.

Surprising Highlights

I thought Trastevere would just be quaint streets, but the basilica was jaw-dropping. On the Ghetto side, the turtle fountain was unexpectedly delightful. Our guide, Marco, made sure we saw all the little gems.

Enlightening Tour

As someone with Jewish heritage, walking the Ghetto with a knowledgeable guide was very meaningful. Elena explained the challenges faced by the community in a way that was both respectful and enlightening. I’m grateful for the experience.

Peaceful Morning Stroll

We booked a morning slot, and Trastevere was wonderfully quiet. The mosaics inside Santa Maria glowed in the sunlight streaming through the windows. I felt like we had Rome to ourselves.

Eye-Opening and Moving

didn’t know much about the history of Jews in Rome, and this tour was an education. Standing by the Great Synagogue while hearing about centuries of resilience was very moving. Thank you to LivTours and our guide Marco.

One of the Best Parts of Rome

This was probably my favorite neighborhood walk of the entire trip. Trastevere was so colorful, while the Ghetto had a gravity and depth that was unforgettable. Ending with gelato by the fountain was the perfect finish.

Relaxed Yet Informative

We loved how easy this tour felt. Davide mixed historical facts with casual conversation, and it was just right. Seeing Teatro Marcello was such a cool surprise—I had no idea it even existed

Brilliant Mix of Cultures

Rome is often presented as purely Catholic, but this tour showed us the incredible mix of pagan, Christian, and Jewish influences. Giulia was excellent at connecting the dots between eras. A must-do for culture lovers.

For Anyone Who Loves Local Neighborhoods

I wanted to see Rome beyond the monuments, and this delivered. We saw where locals actually live and shop, and Chiara pointed out details like family crests carved into buildings. It was as charming as it was informative.
