A Beautiful Walk Through Layers of History
Our LivTours guide, Elena, brought Verona’s past to life with such warmth and clarity. I especially loved sitting on the marble seats of the Roman Theater while she explained how performances unfolded there two millennia ago. The Juliet balcony was busier than expected, but reading the heartfelt messages on the courtyard walls made it feel special. A fantastic way to understand why this city is called the “City for Lovers.”
- Daniel WhitmorePerfect Family Tour—Educational and Fun
We took this tour with our two teens, and even they were captivated thanks to our guide Marco, who had a talent for storytelling. The kids were amazed by the Porta Borsari and couldn’t believe how well preserved it was. Walking across the Ponte Pietra offered the best family photo of our entire trip. This tour struck the ideal balance between learning and enjoying the city.
- Melissa CarterRomantic Afternoon in the City of Lovers
My husband and I booked this private walk hoping for something a bit romantic, and it delivered beautifully. The Juliet courtyard was surprisingly touching, especially seeing all the handwritten notes tucked into the walls. Our guide suggested a tiny trattoria near Piazza delle Erbe afterward, and it was the best meal we had in Italy. Highly recommended for couples exploring Verona.
- Harriet O’ConnorA Deep Dive Into Verona’s Roman Past
As a history buff, this tour exceeded all my expectations. The contrast between the Arena and the even older Roman Theater gave me a richer understanding of the city’s ancient layers. Our guide, Davide, also pointed out architectural details on the Scaligeri tombs that I would have completely missed. Worth every moment.
- Christopher AllenGreat Choice for a Solo Traveler
Traveling alone, I wanted a tour that felt personal and flexible, and LivTours delivered. My guide tailored the pace perfectly and even showed me a small artisans’ lane near the Carega district that wasn’t in any of my guidebooks. Standing on the Ponte Pietra at sunset was a highlight I’ll never forget. A wonderful way to discover Verona’s charm.
- Sophia NguyenVerona is amazing
Verona isn't always on everyone's list of places to visit in Italy but really, it should be! It's a city with history that dates back to ancient Roman times (with the really well preserved Arena), enchanting cobblestone streets and alleyways that open onto beautiful piazzas and colorful buildings. Your imagination goes wild as you imagine the story of Romeo and Juliet in this setting! Our guide Stefano was so knowledgeable and such a great story teller, we were entertained from start to finish. Definitely recommend you visit Verona ...and do it with LivItaly!!
- George M.Wonderful Introduction to Verona’s Highlights
This was our first time in Verona, and the tour offered a perfect overview without feeling rushed. I loved the mix of Roman, medieval, and Renaissance sights as we walked through the center. Elena even pointed out the perfect spot for a gelato break near Piazza Bra, which our kids were thrilled about. We left feeling like we understood the city far better than if we’d explored on our own.
- Jacob RiveraA Tour That Shows Verona Beyond the Postcards
I appreciated that this wasn’t just a checklist of famous spots. Yes, we saw the Arena, Juliet’s balcony, and the grand piazzas, but our guide also took us down quiet cobblestone lanes where we could peek into local workshops. The Scaligeri tombs were a surprising highlight—so ornate and imposing up close. An excellent way to see the city’s personality.
- Heinrich MüllerVerona’s Stories Brought to Life
Our guide had such a passion for the city that you couldn’t help but be drawn into the stories. Hearing about the reconstruction of the Ponte Pietra after WWII was unexpectedly moving. The gentle walk through the Cappelletti courtyard and the sight of Juliet’s statue made the romantic legends feel surprisingly real. A memorable morning in Verona.
- Amanda ScottGrandparents, Kids, and Everyone Happy!
We were a mixed group—grandparents, parents, and two kids—and this tour worked amazingly for all ages. Chiara kept the children engaged with fun facts about gladiators when we stopped at the Arena. My mother loved Piazza delle Erbe and its frescoed façades. It isn’t easy to impress a group like ours, but this tour managed it effortlessly.
