Great Day
I have to say the highlight of the day from a services provided perspective was Frederico our driver. He was the one constant through our 8 hour day as he took us from one thing to the next. He was so delightful, friendly and provided great insight and historical information about the area and the things we were doing. Our tour of Pompeii was great with a very seasoned and knowledgable guide who was well known by all the other guides saying hi as we passed other groups. Mt Vesuvius climb was fun and challenging but not too hard. My only regret is that our time at Pompeii was too short. We really learned on this trip after doing several other tours of museums and landmarks that it makes the most sense to tour a space and then have some time there on your own exploring too. The tours are so rich and informative that you spend a lot of time looking at fewer things but in more depth but it often meant that we saw less of a collection overall. This is fine with me but it would be nice to build in an hour or two on your own to explore. We had come all the way across the world to see Pompeii and I left really wanting more and I am pretty sure we only saw 5-20% of it. It would be worth making it a 9 hour tour and instead of leaving Pompeii at 11:30 leave at 12:30 or 1pm for a lunch break before moving on to Vesuvius.
- Sarah McDowellHighly recommend
We were very interested in seeing Pompeii but when we saw that LivItaly offered a tour which would pick us up from our cruise ship and take us not just to Pompeii but also to visit Mt. Vesuvius, it sounded like the perfect way to spend our day. We were infact extremely happy with this choice. Pompeii is, of course, a must-see with its fascinating history and all that is miraculously preserved. But you really get the picture about what happened when you visit Mt. Vesuvius. We had an amazing day and will recommend to all! Thank you LivItaly!
