Incredible Experience

My wife and I had Giovanni as our tour guide and we cannot say enough how wonderful he was; charismatic, comical, possessing a great depth of knowledge, with an ability to say more with a look than with an entire paragraph. He succinctly described the importance of various pieces of artwork and their beauty, while keeping a great sense of humor. I won't repeat his jokes but his spiel at the double sarcophagus of a Roman couple and the Death of Laocoon had us both dying of laughter. The tour breezed through many lines and while we took a shorter version to reach the Sistine Chapel, when we arrived there it was nearly empty. Those previous minutes are absolutely worth the cost of the tour. My wife accidentally left her phone in the Sistine Chapel and Giovanni was able to take use back to go retrieve it, such is his relationship with security. The tour of the basilica helped us make sense of the massive building and we can't say enough about the whole experience. If you can afford it, take the tour and hope you have Giovanni.

Wonderful Vatican tour

Perfect Vatican tour

Excellent private tour

We booked a private Vatican tour with Franco. We began quite early and Franco took us quickly through several exhibits so that we arrived in the Sistine Chapel ahead of the mobs! In fact, we could even SIT DOWN on the side benches and marvel at the artwork without hassle. By mid-morning, the crowds were so thick you could barely move, but we had already seen most of what needs to be seen, and arrived at St. Peter's by late morning, before the heavy crowding caught up! Franco's knowledge was phenomenal, and he guided us expertly throughout. The tour was a little over 3 hours, and he made sure that our physical limitations were considered to maximize our visit. He dealt with the challenge of the crowds marvelously! This tour couldn't have been better - we recommend LivItaly without reservation.

Very enjoyable

We were very happy to choose the private Vatican tour it got us past a big line and in one hour earlier than the rest of the crowd so we had time to look at everything and take pictures without a big crowd in your face. Our guide was very informative and provided lots of detail that we enjoyed a lot.

Great tour and fantastic guide!

David was fantastic. He was smart, funny, engaging, and he really knew how to tailor the tour to the group. We loved every minute of that tour. Afterwards when we were at dinner, we were all talking about our favorite thing of the day and my father said, “Actually my favorite thing was listening to David talk.” So David was able to out-do the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museum, AND the Basilica. We will happily recommend your company (and David) to anyone traveling here.
