Engaging and Educational for the Whole Family

We brought our two kids, and I was worried the museum might be too dense for them, but Santiago kept them engaged from the first artifact. He turned the Egyptian mummies into an interactive conversation about ancient rituals and let the kids ask all their curious questions. The Portland Vase ended up being their favorite, which surprised me. This was easily our most enriching day in London.

Our guide Christian completely transformed our understanding of the British Museum. I booked the private tour of the British Museum tour for my family of four. We had a spectacular time. Our tour guide, Ivo, was incredibly knowledgeable about history and the museum itself, and thoroughly engaging. He kept our kids interested the entire time. There are too many eras and artifacts to cover in one day, let alone 2.5 hours, but Ivo did a wonderful job taking us through them and showing a number of highlight items. I can’t recommend this tour enough!

This is a museum where having a guide to help you navigate and explain all that you are seeing makes a huge difference as to how much you enjoy the visit and how much you will remember from the experience. Richard was our guide for this tour and he was amazing. Very knowledgeable and a great comunicator -- always very entertaining and never boring. The museum is one of the best in the world but there's alot to see. It's important to have a guide to help you navigate the museum, see as much as possible and learn about what you are seeing in a way that you'll remember. This tour, offered by LivTours, was the perfect way to see the British Museum. I'm sure their other museum tours, in other cities, are just as great!

Definitely worth it

My wife and I were visiting London for the first time and decided to book this guided tour of the British Museum since we knew that the museum is one of the best (and most comprehensive) in the world. We enjoyed every minute of the tour and the time we spent with our excellent guide, Mary. She made history come alive and pointed out details and gave us insights that we wouldn't have known to look for without her. We both felt that the tour was worth every cent -- plus more!

Expert guide

The best part of the tour was our guide, Jonathan, an art history and archeology major and really interesting person. He helped us navigate this big museum so that we saw the best pieces while he explained, in vivid detail, what we were seeing. We asked millions of questions which he very expertly answered. Having this personal guide with us made the whole experience so much more memorable.
