Fantastic day
We had an amazing time during this cooking class. We chose it mostly because we thought it would be fun for the kids (ages 7, 10 and 13) and a welcomed change from museums and monuments. We couldn't have been more pleased. Marilee made the class about them and had their hands busy from beginning to end. They loved it! AND were so proud of what they had made. We left with hugs and smiles and very full tummies... and lots of great memories!
- LindsayA lovely day! A fun (and delicious) class
This was one of the highlights of our trip -- especially for the kids (8 and 11). We met Marilee in the piazza and she immediately connected with the kids, asking them questions and asking about their impressions of Rome. As we walked through the open air market to get various ingredients for the class, she was great about pointing out some of the stranger items on the fish and meat stands that the kids (and adults too) had never seen before. Needless to say, the kids were enthralled. A short walk brought us to Marilee's lovely appartment and with matching aprons on, we dove right into the preparation of a huge Italian meal. Marilee made it about the kids but my husband and I were definitely workers too and we all loved sharing and laughing with her throughout the day. We were stuffed at the end but very happy we had booked this class.
- KatieDelicious meal made by us!
We have taken cooking classes in other places around the world but this was certainly one of the most enjoyable! It's a hands-on class -- not a chef doing and explaining while you watch -- but held in a private home with a lovely and very friendly host. We were up to our elbows in flour and other delicious ingredients while sipping prosecco and making the 5 course meal that we then sat down and ate out on Marilee's lovely terrace. We will definitely do this class again, if we ever return to Rome. Highly recommend.
- Kerry and JoeA great family day
We came to Rome with our 3 kids (ages 7, 9 and 11) and one of their favorite things that we did was the cooking class at Marilee's apartment. She was born in the USA but has lived in Rome for nearly 40 years and has some of the most entertaining stories to tell. She was great with the kids and really made it all about them, which was just perfect. We all had our hands in it, though, so the time really flew by. And, boy, did we eat everything that we had made. 5 courses and all really delicious!! A great day for all!
- JodyCooking class in Rome
My partner and I love to cook so to take a cooking class in Rome sounded like a fun way to learn new recipes and get an italian experience. The cooking class takes place in Marilee's lovely private home and involves nearly 5 hours of cooking, eating, talking and laughing. It was a great break from our other more touristy days and we came away with lots of new ideas, recipes and wonderful memories. Thanks LivItaly for a great idea!
- Shiela and KimHad a great time in the cooking class
We loved our cooking class in Rome. Marilee is a lovely and gracious host and a great cook. The class is "hands-on" so we were knee-deep in flour and loved every minute of it. Sign up for this class, it's really great fun!
