Paola was an amazing tour guide!

Paola was an amazing tour guide! We learned so much about the history of the area we are staying (Travastere) and neighboring, Tiberian Island, Los Argentina and the Jewish Ghetto. Her enthusiasm, knowledge of Rome (churches, neighborhoods, art, etc). was exceptional! I would highly recommend her.

Extremely interesting tour

We had read about the importance of the Jewish community in Rome so this tour sounded like it would be very interesting. It was, indeed! In fact, we learned things that we would never have imagined about the history of the Jews in Italy. The synagogue is fascinating since it was the center of so much that went on during the period of the Ghetto. We also strolled around Trastevere which is the area of Rome that, as our guide told us, they say the TRUE romans live. We enjoyed every minute of this tour and have already recommended it to many people.

History of the Jews in Rome

We visited Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto with our amazing tour guide, Rachel. She was energetic, personable and her knowledge of history and the Jewish culture made everything we saw all that more impressive. She really brought it to life. We only had 6 in our group so it made listening and asking questions very easy and we got so much more out of the tour because of it. We also took the early morning Vatican tour with LivItaly and had an equally satisfying experience. The booking staff was responsive and directions to meet were clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend this company.

multiple tours with LivItaly

We did several tours with LivItaly - Vatican, colosseum, Jewish ghetto and food tour. All were excellent! The guides were all very professional and knowledgeable but also so friendly and personable. We felt not only like we had learned so much but had also made new friends at the end of each tour. LivItaly came highly recommended to us and we are now happy to strongly recommend them to all future travelers.

Federica took us to Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto

Very knowledgeable, friendly and informative guide who brought alive the history of these areas. We saw where Caesar met his demise and discussed the interesting politics of that time. We walked in the formerly gated Jewish area and learned of Rome’s Jewish population’s experience with the atrocities of 1943. Much more too. Would highly recommend!

We learned so much

Giulia was an amazing tour guide on our tour of the Jewish Ghetto in Rome. Her knowledge of the history of the Jews and the Ghetto was extensive and brought to life for us that Jews were a substantial part of the population in early Rome and it's development. We had an unforgettable experience. Thank you!

Two wonderful tours

We started our visit to Rome with the Sunset Walking Tour with Patrizio and the next day we explored the Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere with Rachel. Both were outstanding guides, friendly and informative about what we were seeing. They were attentive to our needs and interests and incorporated their own perspectives on life in Rome then and now. I highly recommend Livitaly Tours. The website is easy to navigate and they are very responsive via email.

Extremely interesting tour of Rome's Jewish Ghetto

Brilliant tour. Our tour guide, Rachel, was insightful, engaging and incredibly interesting. We learned all about the Jewish Ghetto, among many other interesting things. You learn a lot about Rome and where to find it’s hidden gems. Rachel was also kind enough to take us to one of the most popular bakeries in Rome as she knew we were huge foodies. I would highly recommend this tour!

Jewish Ghetto in Rome

We decided to book the Trastevere & Jewish Ghetto Small Group Tour tour because we were staying near the Ponte Sisto bridge and we wanted to learn more about this area. We are so glad we did, as we learned more than we expected and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Dimitri who shared his knowledge and passion with us. It's an incredibly interesting and historically rich neighborhood, worthy of a visit.
