The story of LivTours begins in 2004 when Angelo Carotenuto started leading tours in Rome. In 2009, Angelo founded LivTours—then LivItaly Tours. In 2012, Angelo crossed paths with Kristin, a logistics expert from Sweden, in the vibrant streets of Rome. Soon after, Kristin joined Angelo to help run the growing operations across Italy.

LivTours started by offering semi-private (6 people max) and private tours in Rome, Florence, and Pompeii. Responding to the demand for customized, small-group experiences led by top-rated guides, the company expanded its curated offerings to Spain in 2017, France in 2019, England in 2020, Austria in 2023, and Germany in 2024. As LivTours has expanded throughout Europe, they remain dedicated to offering tours and experiences that are well-priced, customizable, and accessible.

Sustainability has always been a key factor for LivTours and the company is a member of GreenStep Sustainable Tourism, a GSTC-accredited certification body. Where large group tours both exploit local heritage and put micro-economies through boom and bust cycles, LivTours’ small group tours are designed to reduce negative impact, authentically explore local culture, support small businesses and give back to the local community.

As of 2024, LivTours offers over 350 intimate and carefully crafted tours and experiences across Italy, Spain, France, England, Austria, and Germany.
