After free time for lunch, your next stop is the famous Duomo of Milan – a global symbol of the city with its Gothic spires and vast size (it is the 5th largest cathedral in the world). Walk among the spires and pinnacles and admire the spectacular views! An amazing experience!
Next, you’ll explore the heart of the city: stop to take a snap of Milan’s grand opera house La Scala, where Verdi, Puccini, and Bellini made their names. After a short stroll, you’ll arrive at the medieval fortress of the Sforza Castle, built in the 15th century by the Duke of Milan, it is now one of the largest citadels in Europe. Inside, your semi-private tour ends on a high note, with the viewing of Michelangelo’s incomplete Pieta statue. This was the master artist’s third and last Pieta, in fact, the last creation of his lifetime, and shows us how the artist looked for hidden figures to liberate from the blocks of marble he worked with.
