Your Private Evening Gondola Ride in Venice starts from the picturesque square of Campo San Giacometto where you will meet your local guide.  This square is home to the oldest church in Venetian history, dating back to 421 AD.  The area is in the daytime a bustling part of the city since it’s where the Venetians come to buy fresh groceries at the nearby fresh food market, the Rialto Market, located next to the Grand Canal.

The Rialto area gave the name to the famous Rialto Bridge, known for its unique architecture. Learn the story behind the design as you cross over. We will make sure to stop at the top of the bridge where you can take stunning photos of the Grand Canal. Venice at twilight is a sight for sore eyes!

You will continue your stroll in the calmer evening air of Venice, through the small streets without the daunting crowds, and walk across the charming bridges and discover hidden piazzas. Your guide will make plenty of stops along the way to tell you more about this city’s history and its anecdotes. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want.

    I highly recommend this tour. We were in Venice during a heatwave and the city center crowds were unbearable. We chose a 6:00p tour hoping that the crowds and heat would settle down. The heat decreased but the crowds were still present. This tour is essential to Venice because it takes you away from the crowds. Lara, our tour guide, took us down back alleys that released us from the crowds. This was so cool. There were random stores in the alleys that I suppose only Venetians knew about (ex. ceramics and mask making shops). They seemed so secluded and personal. I also like the fact that Lara kept visual pictures in her bag about the places she was describing. It helped us digest the information better. Our Gondola ride was also a great way to end the tour. It was a 30 minute sunset private ride. It didn't feel rushed at all. Our Gondolier, a Venetian, had lived in Texas, so we had a great ease of conversation during our ride while he pointed out highlights along the way. I can't speak highly enough about doing this tour while in Venice, especially to not feel like a tourist.
