On the Ultimate Catalan Food tour of Barcelona, you will experience the flavours and culinary traditions that influenced the world’s best chefs. Your small group of no more than six will weave its way through el Born and the Gothic Quarter, visiting a local market, bakers, artisan shops, hole-in-the-wall tapas bars and even book shops, in search of dishes and flavours that speak to the Catalan kitchen.

Your Barcelona Food Tour starts at the famous Mercat de Santa Caterina – located in the oldest and perhaps most beautiful part of the city. The market, remodelled in the early 2000s, is used by locals and tourists alike. You will enjoy breakfast like a local in the vibrant market bar.
After your first breakfast, comes your second breakfast, as your group delves deeper into el Born and into its mercantile past. A bakers a sweet shop and a Colmado – a shop opened to sell the fruits of empire – will all be dipped into and tasted, before leaving the old el Born to go to the older Gothic Quarter.
Now we are ready for our ‘lunch’ stop. Three tapas and a glass of something traditional, with famous chefs and celebrities on the wall. This is a bar frequented by the great Catalan chefs and featured on TV. But we are going to enjoy its three dishes that pay tribute to Catalan cuisine.
Dessert is the final stop on your Barcelona Food Tour and it is the perfect end to a foodie tour! To those who debate between cheese and sweet for dessert, we say, why choose? Cheese can do it all. By the end of the tour you will have seen and tasted your way around Barcelona with your local expert guide, and should feel a little more in touch with what it’s like to be a true Catalan.
