Your LivTours Half Day Paris City Tour will begin in one of the most scenic spots of the city, at the tip of this picturesque island, the perfect spot for picture taking. Start with a meet and greet with your local guide and begin with a leisurely stroll along the Seine River to Pont Neuf, the oldest stone bridge in Paris. A simple glimpse will give you an idea of what makes this one of the most charming cities in the world. Continue onto Île de la Cité’s peaceful Place Dauphine.
If this square looks familiar to you, then you have probably seen Place Dauphine before in a few major motion pictures like Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. Though this square may be familiar for its more modern accomplishments, it holds an impenetrable place in history as well. Your guide will point out the very spot where King Louis IX, now venerated as a saint, once would come to pray close to a 1000 years ago. Enjoy this comprehensive tour in an intimate semi-private group of six people maximum!
As you make your way along the island, your LivTours guide will explain the long history of this natural island in the center of Paris, you will soon find yourself at your next stop – the French equivalent to Rome’s Sistine Chapel – Sainte Chapelle. Once used by the French nobility for Catholic mass, this High Gothic chapel has some of the most beautiful stained glass in the world. You will immediately see why art critics consider Sainte Chapelle’s windows a “Jerusalem of the Sky.” On each of these colorful windows, you will see familiar tales from the Old and New Testament as well as stories related to how Sainte Chapelle acquired Christ’s Crown of Thorns. Plus, with LivTours, you do not have to worry about going through a security check or waiting in line. Skip every line with our exclusive access and entrance!
After admiring the brightness of Sainte Chapelle’s stained glassed windows, it is now time to hear a few of the darker tales of Paris’ past as you walk by the notorious Conciergerie. Your guide will transport you back to the bloody days of the French Revolution, where you will get an idea of Marie Antoinette’s last days before meeting her fate under the guillotine.
As you make your way to your River Seine cruise, your tour guide will take you to one of the most beloved spots of Paris, the Medieval masterpiece known as the Notre Dame Cathedral. Notre Dame is temporarily closed to the public, but you can still learn about this architectural wonder and admire it from afar. Learn about Notre Dame’s intricate frame design and the current efforts in rebuilding it. In addition to learning more about Notre Dame’s past, your guide will fill you in on future renovations at France’s famed cathedral so you know exactly when to plan your next trip to Paris!
SEINE RIVER CRUISE
Now it’s time for your Seine River Cruise! The boat portion of your tour begins at the historic 17th century Pont Marie Bridge, where you and your guide will embark on a relaxing sightseeing journey. This is the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Paris. Boats are equipped with a bar, so you can opt for a drink or a snack while enjoying the panoramic views.
Some of the picturesque spots you will get to see are the Conciergerie which you just walked by; the Académie Française which is home to the French council governing body of the French language; the Musée d’Orsay, a once railways station which now holds the largest collection of Impressionist art in the world; the Hôtel National des Invalides, a still-active 17th-century hospital and hospice for injured and disabled war veterans and of course the symbol of France you came to see – the Eiffel Tower.
Your River Cruise will end at the Eiffel Tower, where your guide will end your tour but not before prepping you with just enough info to be able to enjoy this 1889 wrought-iron masterpiece on your own for the rest of your afternoon.

Excellent way to see Paris
"This tour offered us an excellent chance to see and learn about the highlights of the city and all the history and culture that is part of what makes Paris, well, Paris! "

"This tour was fun for everyone in our family (kids: 7 and 10). It was just the right length, set at a perfect pace, group of only 6 people with very excellent guide who told stories that had the kids engaged the entire time. We saw the highlights of the city and took lots of great family shots (thanks to our guide who knew the best places for pictures and offered to be photographer as well). The kids thought the river cruise was really cool. All in all, we couldn't have been happier with the choice of this tour. Definitely recommend."
Ulysses - South Africa
Really great tour
"We took this small group half day tour of the city highlights and we were very happy we did. We got so much more out of seeing everything with our excellent guide who told us the background and history of what we were seeing. We asked (and he answered) all sorts of questions about Paris, past and present, and we took alot of really great photos to remind us of this fun time."
